Prison Volunteer Training Program

An Emotional Literacy Intervention based on the Houses of Healing Program

Thank you for your interest in the Houses of Healing Prison Volunteer Training Program. This free online training will give you a solid overview of the core concepts and teachings in Houses of Healing. Houses of Healing volunteers often play a pivotal role in helping incarcerated men and women turn a corner and truly alter the course of their lives. We consistently hear from volunteers that the experience of facilitating Houses of Healing is a rich and rewarding one. We expect that you will find it deeply rewarding as well.A

All individuals who have registered for the free online training can purchase the texts, the Houses of Healing book and facilitator’s manual at a significantly reduced rate. In addition, monthly conference calls were offered (2015).  These calls were an opportunity to join in with a community of fellow participants and ask questions or share your Houses of Healing volunteer experience with others.  If you are joining in 2016, and you have not had the opportunity to participate in the the calls, click here to access recordings.

CEUs are available for psychologists, social workers, mental health professionals, and substance abuse counselors. See link at the bottom of this page to purchase CEU units.
