| PRISON LIBRARIES The Lionheart Foundation distributes free copies of the book, Houses of Healing: A Prisoner's guide to Inner Power and Freedom, in both English and Spanish, to the libraries of state and federal prisons and county jails in the United states. Prior authorization from the librarian or from the administrator responsible for the prison library system is necessary. The number of books for which an institution is eligible is determined by the size of the inmate population served by its library system. We request that, if possible, many or all of the books be immediately placed on display for at least the first few months so they will easily be seen by inmates as a new resource. Past experience of prison librarians indicates that these books stay in circulation and do not take up valuable shelf space for long. Call the Lionheart Foundation at (781) 444-6667 to request a donation. |
| PRISON PROGRAMS Many institutions are purchasing copies of the Houses of Healing Training Manual and additional sets of books so they can either start new programs based entirely on Houses of Healing, or include Houses of Healing in already-established programs (such as life skills, anger management, violence prevention, and substance abuse treatment). We gladly support such efforts. If you are starting a new program or augmenting an existing one and cannot obtain funds to purchase the needed copies of Houses of Healing, and if our resources allow, we will help by donating a set of books (10 or 20 copies in English, or 5, 10, or 20 copies in Spanish, depending on class size). Please note that books are donated with the understanding that they are intended for RE-USE only. That is, they are to be lent to program participants who will return them at the end of the course for re-use by future participants. This donation is a one-time offer. Please see To Order for Purchase for replacement books. Call the Lionheart Foundation at (781) 444-6667 to request a donation. |

LIBRARIES of SCHOOLS and INSTITUTIONS SERVING AT-RISK YOUTH and YOUTHFUL OFFENDERS The Lionheart Foundation distributes free copies of the book, POWER SOURCE: Taking Charge of Your Life, to lending libraries in U.S. schools and institutions for highly at-risk youth. The number of books for which an institution is eligible is determined by the size of the population served by its library system. Go to Free Copies Order Form, or call the Lionheart Foundation at (781) 444-6667. |
PROGRAMS for AT-RISK YOUTH and YOUTHFUL OFFENDERS If after reviewing POWER SOURCE you would like to use this resource in facilitating a group, Lionheart will donate up to 10 copies of POWER SOURCE for the participating youth, and one copy of the facilitator's manual, IF FUNDING IS NOT AVAILABLE to purchase them. Large institutions offering several programs may request startup sets for more than one group. Because Lionheart's resources are limited, additional or replacement copies will have to be purchased. |
